Nepal·October - April
Go offline and seek true presence through meditation and hiking in the Nepalese Himalayas.
VIEW DATESEscape the daily grind and get a deeper understanding of yourself and your worth. This journey will not only teach you the value of getting off the digital grid, but will give you something better in return: The tools to focus, concentrate, and to deal with your innermost thoughts. Learn the true meaning of being in the moment. Escape your phone, look up, and discover a whole new world of wonder. There's no better place to immerse yourself in the present than Nepal with the beautiful Himalayas as a backdrop. This journey will give you back the ability to be present in the moment happening right now. Not yesterday, tomorrow, or on Instagram. This presence with your fellow travelers can give a completely different connection – one that's real and not just digital. You'll be forced to live with the awkward silence with no phone to escape into, and it will transform your social interaction moving forward – if you let it!

Where you'll be staying
While you're in Kathmandu and when you're living in the Buddhist monastery, you'll be staying in shared twin rooms.
On the trekking days, you'll be staying in teahouses, also known as 'Bhatti' in Nepalese. These are typically family-owned and can provide you with traditional home-cooked meals and stories of the mountains. You will typically share the room with 1-3 of your co-travelers. Don't expect luxury as most of them are basic but do expect to wake up to the most stunning views every morning.
All personal equipment including:
The journey begins and ends in Kathmandu.
You can either get picked up at the airport or meet everyone at the first hotel on the day the journey begins if you choose to arrive earlier. From there, adventure in nature awaits!
The journey begins and ends in Kathmandu.
You can either extend your stay and explore more of Nepal at the end of the journey, or get a lift to the airport once we've said goodbye.
None at all. We do recommend that you're in decent physical shape, however, as you'll be trekking every day for almost a week while in the altitude of the Himalayas.
For the trekking part of this journey, we will be trekking for about 4-8 hours per day depending on the day, the conditions on the day in question and the physical strength of the group.
On re:discover journeys, we like to keep groups small. This helps you better assimilate into the local communities you'll be visiting, and gives space for you to truly connect and get to know your fellow travel mates. Group size will vary but expect around 6 to 12 people plus your local guides and teachers.
Overall, you'll be staying in basic, but comfortable accommodation.
While in Kathmandu, you'll share a twin room in a central hotel. While on the trek, you'll be staying in authentic, often family-owned teahouses.
In the Monastery, you will be sharing a room betwen 2-4 people.
You will be sharing with one or more of your co-travelers. Maybe your next BFF or TBFL (travel buddy for life)? Because we try to gather people with similar interests who are in the same place in life, we're convinced that you will find people to bond with on your trip, and one of the best ways is to share a room with them.
We recommend that you do! Either arrive early, stay longer or do both. It's impossible to do and see everything in 18 days – there's always more to do and to see. We've set the length of this journey so that you won't have to take off too much time from work, but if this is not a concern of yours, well, then it's almost an obligation to stay a bit longer to see what else Nepal has to offer!
Did we not answer all of your questions? Not to worry – you can always ask! There are no stupid questions. Well, not a lot anyway. We're always happy to help – even if some questions might be silly to us, if we haven't answered them clearly by now, it's on us.
Plus, we love it when you get in touch!
